Bike Fest – our region’s annual celebration of “Life on Two Wheels” – is just around the corner. This April, enjoy dozens of bicycle-related events throughout the greater Tucson region, complete with prizes and incentives to help encourage Tucsonans of all ages and abilities get out on a bike while the weather is beautiful.
NEW! This year, we’ve put together an entire website dedicated to Bike Fest. Visit www.BikeFestTucson.com to learn more about events like Pedal the Pueblo, Cyclovia Tucson, Borderlands Bike-In Happy Hour, and more and to find out what businesses will be pitching in perks and discounts for bicyclists this year.
Bike Fest is for everyone! You don’t have to be a serious cyclist to take part in Bike Fest. In fact, our main goal with this program is to encourage more people to give bicycling a try for their everyday needs like riding to the bank, the library, or to a friend’s house. Studies show that 75% of all household trips are two miles are less. Just imagine how much gas money you’d save, how much easy exercise you’d get, and – most importantly – how much fun you’d have, if you could start making those trips by bike. (Even just a few trips by bike each week makes a big difference!)
Living Streets Alliance invites you to join us for Bike Fest 2013. We look forward to seeing you out “Pedaling the Pueblo” this April!
