Love to Ride? Then Bike More!

Living Streets Alliance is excited to announce the launch of Love to Ride in Tucson. Love to Ride is an online platform and smartphone app that makes it easy and fun for existing bicycle riders to encourage their friends, co-workers and community to ride. The program also supports and encourages new riders to experience first-hand the joys and benefits of riding a bike. Love to Ride is a time-tested, proven program with more than 168,000 users worldwide, who have logged more than 2.2 million trips, representing 8,981 different companies in 9 countries.

Once someone registers with Love to Ride, they create a profile, begin recording rides, and become eligible for monthly prize drawings each month they ride. While the Love to Ride program will be active all year, the real excitement happens during the Tucson Bike More Challenge, which begins with Cyclovia Tucson on October 30th. Everyone who registers for Love to Ride can count their miles bicycled at Cyclovia as their first trip!

The Tucson Bike More Challenge aims to get more people cycling more often, whether that be for fun, exercise or to work. It is a free, fun competition for workplaces to compete against each other not to ride further, but to get the maximum amount of their staff to ride a bike anywhere, anytime between October 30 and November 30, 2016. The Tucson Bike More Challenge is using a points model to allow workplaces to compete with each other across their size category (companies only compete with other similarly sized companies – we want everyone to have a fair shot at winning!).

Once you register and create a profile, users can watch their points stack up, exchange encouraging messages with coworkers (or engage in some friendly bragging with competitors), set goals, post photos, and earn badges. Anyone who logs a ride of at least 10 minutes is eligible to win prizes, like lights, helmets, locks, gear, bike tune-ups, movie tickets, restaurant gift certificates, solar chargers and even bicycles.

The Challenge is open to any and all residents of Pima County or anyone who works in the area, and is free to take part. Registration is open now!
