Now available online, Riders and Walkers is a 60-minute presentation adapted from the in-classroom version that is ideal for 2nd-4th graders and encourages them to explore their neighborhood on foot and bike safely. The presenters guide students through a Chutes & Ladders-inspired game, following Sofia and Santiago as they travel to school.
We’re excited to see families using this time to get outside to walk and bike together more often, and we want to offer this educational resource that helps to reinforce the benefits of active travel and basic safety concepts with your young ones. Once you finish watching the video, complete this Walking Checklist together in your neighborhood to reinforce safe routes concepts and learn ways to make your neighborhood a better place for walking.
This video was made possible from the support of the City of Tucson’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Program. Special thanks to our partners at the Environmental Education Exchange who worked to produce this online version!
