Whimsical Bike Count #7 — Beards (Final Count!)
November 19, 2015 @ 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Do you get on your two wheels as part of your daily routine to get to work, pick up kids, buy groceries, etc. — in other words, as a means of transportation in your normal, everyday clothes? Then you’re a part of Tucson’s “everyday biking” scene! The national advocacy organization People for Bikes is on a quest to name the everyday biking capital of the United States through a nationwide competition that involves a series of monthly themed bike counts. Unlike the “serious” and “scientific” bike counts, these are all about “fun” and “whimsy.” (You can read more here.)
This last count is our final chance to pedal to the medal! The theme this month is “BEARDS” to capture the spirit of Movember. Please visit our facebook event page to RSVP, and spread the word to your bearded friends. We’ll be counting at the corner of 4th Avenue and University Street right in front of Epic Cafe. Start growing those beards, Tucson, and let’s win this one!
