Community Ride to Tucson Jazz Fiesta

Ride with Sof, our Bike Initiatives Coordinator, to the Tucson Jazz Fiesta! The event itself is from 11am to 7pm, we'll arrive around 3:40pm with time to see Ken Peplowski, the Tucson Jazz Festival Artist in Residence for his 4:30pm show.
Meet outside the Himmel Park Library at 3pm and ride to Corbett's for the fiesta. This is a no-drop, party pace ride and all are welcome! Families, dogs, cats, jazz fiends and everything in between. Let's celebrate MLK day in community with bicycles and good music.

The following Mobile Bike Repair clinics are scheduled in partnership with area schools. If your family attends one of these schools make sure to contact the front office to reserve you slot! We'll provide basic bicycle maintenance and youth bicycle helmets for FREE, thanks to Tucson Department of Transportation & Mobility.

Weigh in on proposed changes to Tucson's transit system
After almost a year of gathering public input Sun Tran is hosting six public meetings this month to share and discuss the Comprehensive Operational Analysis (COA) proposed transit changes. Make sure and attend one of these meetings and weigh in:

Give feedback on Draft Goals for Plan Tucson
The Plan Tucson Team is collecting feedback on the first draft of the plan’s updated goals, which will inform policies and strategies for development and other city services.
Two Community Forums are scheduled this month on January 17, 2024 (virtual) and January 20, 2024 (in-person). You can also fill out a Feedback Survey if you're unable to attend a forum. Apply to serve on the 1st Avenue Citizens' Corridor Planning Task Force
The City of Tucson is seeking applicants for their newly established First Avenue Citizens’ Corridor Planning Task Force to work with the DTM project team to establish priorities and advise on the alignment and design of the First Avenue Improvement Project from Grant Road to River Road. It will consist of 15 members representing areas of the community that will be most directly affected by the First Avenue project. If you:
- Reside near First Avenue;
- Own a business or property along First Avenue;
- Use the corridor for daily trips; or
- Can represent the interests of pedestrians, transit users, and/or bicyclists on First Avenue

Preliminary project design is anticipated to begin in early 2024 and last about 18 months, with the Task Force meeting every one to two months, or as needed, at key project milestones throughout design. You can learn more about the project here. Click below to apply by January 31st.
