Cyclovita - Amphi

Cyclovita - Amphi

Living Streets Alliance is thrilled to announce the first ever Cyclovita Tucson taking place on Saturday, December 7, 2024!

Cyclovita is a mini celebration of car-free carefree streets, this version of our well-loved Cyclovia Tucson event is neighborhood focused and tailored to the needs and desires of a specific community in our lovely Tucson home. For this first time around, we have been working with folks and community organizations to bring Cyclovita - Amphi in the Amphi neighborhood. The route will connect two major resource and community hubs in Amphi, Woods-Memorial Library and the Building Bridges Community Center, from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. Creating a small, but lively 0.5 mile route.

At the Woods-Memorial Library hub we have partnered with neighbors to bring a Resource Fair that will include tenants right information and aid, legal aid, health services and more! And on the other side of our route will be the Building Bridges Holiday Market and “Taste of Amphi” potluck. Our partners and Building Bridges have been organizing a holiday market since moving into their new space in the Amphi neighborhood, and are working hard to incorporate it and the all new potluck to our Cyclovita event.

As always during our open streets events, we will have food trucks and activities for everyone in the family to enjoy. Dozens of nonprofit and service organizations, performers, and community partners will bring the route to life, providing a fun, car-free day for people from across the region to enjoy. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to walk, bike, skate, roll, play, connect, and learn during this free event.

This pilot event is made possible through generous support from Tucson Ward III Councilmember Kevin Dahl, AARP Tucson, and through grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the AARP Community Challenge.

The Street Project showing

Join us on Saturday, October 12 at 6pm for a free outdoor and "bike in" screening of The Street Project, directed by Jennifer Boyd.

THE STREET PROJECT (52 min) is the story about humanity’s relationship to the streets and the global citizen-led fight to make communities safer.

Digging deep into the root causes of traffic violence, the filmmakers engage a diverse array of experts including street historian Peter Norton, city planner Jeff Speck, and urban design expert Mikael Colville-Andersen. These expert interviews are interwoven with the stories of real people working to make their communities safer.

Free bike valet will be available at the event, located in the plaza behind the Lucé cafe of Main Gate Square.

This screening will be hosted by Living Streets Alliance and Film Fest Tucson.

Ride to Adventure Storytelling Series - Accesibilidad

Adventure Storytelling Series #4 - Serie de Historias de Aventuras #4

This collaborative community event is co-hosted by Roadrunner Bicycles, Campfire Cycling, and FUGA with additional support by Living Streets Alliance.

The Sonoran Desert and greater Arizona are beautiful, rugged, and culturally diverse landscapes. Stories emerge from every saguaro, lie in every wash, under every rock and around every corner.

Come join us on April 23rd at 6:00 PM at American Eat Co., 1439 S 4th Ave, Tucson, AZ 85713 and listen to our six amazing storytellers spin epic yarns of their experiences exploring, discovering, and navigating this incredible place.

The event is donation based and all proceeds will be donated to FUGA.

FUGA (Familias Unidas Ganando Accesibilidad) (Families United Gaining Accessibility) is a grassroots coalition that sees the bicycle as an amazing tool to be in community with people and mobilize around important issues. We organize bi-monthly community bike rides in the Southside and Westside and advocate for a more accessible Tucson.

Join us for a fun 3-4 mile no-drop bicycle ride to the event starting at 5:15 PM at Armory Park hosted in conjunction with Living Streets Alliance.

This event's theme is "Accesibilidad." Adventure lies all around us if we can access it.

Please join us for a happy hour from 6PM - 7PM in the bar and enjoy food from American Eat Co.!

Stories will start at 7PM inside.

This is an all-ages event although alcohol may be present.

The event is capped at 120 people so register today!
