Living Streets Alliance is thrilled to announce the first ever Cyclovita Tucson taking place on Saturday, December 7, 2024!
Cyclovita is a mini celebration of car-free carefree streets, this version of our well-loved Cyclovia Tucson event is neighborhood focused and tailored to the needs and desires of a specific community in our lovely Tucson home. For this first time around, we have been working with folks and community organizations to bring Cyclovita - Amphi in the Amphi neighborhood. The route will connect two major resource and community hubs in Amphi, Woods-Memorial Library and the Building Bridges Community Center, from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. Creating a small, but lively 0.5 mile route.
At the Woods-Memorial Library hub we have partnered with neighbors to bring a Resource Fair that will include tenants right information and aid, legal aid, health services and more! And on the other side of our route will be the Building Bridges Holiday Market and “Taste of Amphi” potluck. Our partners and Building Bridges have been organizing a holiday market since moving into their new space in the Amphi neighborhood, and are working hard to incorporate it and the all new potluck to our Cyclovita event.
As always during our open streets events, we will have food trucks and activities for everyone in the family to enjoy. Dozens of nonprofit and service organizations, performers, and community partners will bring the route to life, providing a fun, car-free day for people from across the region to enjoy. People of all ages and abilities are welcome to walk, bike, skate, roll, play, connect, and learn during this free event.
This pilot event is made possible through generous support from Tucson Ward III Councilmember Kevin Dahl, AARP Tucson, and through grants from the National Endowment for the Arts and the AARP Community Challenge.
