Cyclovia Sunday: What to know before you go
Tucson, AZ (October 25, 2022) –Living Streets Alliance invites people of all ages and abilities to Cyclovia Tucson on Sunday, October 30th from 9 AM to 3 PM. Presented by Arizona Complete Health, this four-mile block party is free to the public! Before you go, here are five things to know:
1. Getting there
Streets will be temporarily closed to cars and open to people to walk, roll, bike, and play on the route traversing neighborhoods in the 85705 zip code. Take the opportunity at this Sunday’s Cyclovia Tucson to try a day without a car. The City of Tucson has kept Sun Tran bus fares free for you and the public. Find detailed routes by getting directions on Google Maps from your house to your arrival destination and select the transit mode. If you bike or roll to Cyclovia, consider riding the Sun Tran bus home after a long day out at the event.
Alternatively, you can utilize one of the City’s bicycle boulevards to get to the event. Find and plan your route here: https://gismaps.pagnet.org/bikewaysmap/ Looking to rent a bike for the day? See where bikes are stocked at Tugo stations around the city at https://tugobikeshare.com/system-map/ Don’t forget to take advantage of free bike repair at most Activity Hubs and free youth helmets at all Info Booths along the route.
Consider carpooling! If you’re not on a convenient bus route or bicycle boulevard, catching a ride with a friend can make it a car-lite day. Parking will be available at the Pima Community College Downtown campus, accessible off of Stone Avenue, or by turning north onto Queen Ave off of Speedway Boulevard. Be sure to familiarize yourself with closed streets and car crossings via the map on the Cyclovia website: https://www.cycloviatucson.org/
2. Everyone is welcome
At Cyclovia, the streets are yours! There’s something along the route for everyone, so you can enjoy the event even if you don’t have a bike. If you do bike, ride slow to keep the route safe for everyone using it. For any concerns or questions, stop by any of five Info Booths along the route, where you can get first aid support, view route maps, get water for yourself and your four-legged friends, and pick up free youth bike helmets.
3. There are hundreds of activities to enjoy.
Seven different activity hubs placed along the route will include local DJs, performances, food trucks, games, activities, and lots of giveaways provided by a variety of community partners. There’s no start or finish—join the route at any point and stay for as long as you’d like!

5. Support Living Streets Alliance.
If you love Cyclovia, donate to Living Streets Alliance (LSA) and support their ongoing efforts to bring Tucson's streets to life. LSA is a nonprofit organization that advocates for a thriving Tucson by creating great streets for all of us. This will be LSA’s 19th Cyclovia Tucson event—their biggest and longest-standing program—but LSA works throughout the year to make it easier for kids to bike and walk to school, advocate for safer streets, and facilitate creative treatments to calm traffic, like the recently completed 6th Avenue Asphalt Art project in downtown. You’ll even experience one of their newest collaborations on the route: the Barrio Blue Moon traffic circle at Helen Street and 14th Avenue. If Cyclovia is taking place in your neighborhood, Living Streets Alliance invites you to join the fun with your own block party setup. Neighbors on the route are encouraged to remove their vehicles from the route during the event. Helpful event volunteers will be stationed at neighborhood intersections to assist people driving with navigating around the route or getting in and out of the neighborhood by car, as needed.
Cyclovia Tucson a program of Living Streets Alliance made possible with support from title sponsor Arizona Complete Health and additional support from the City of Tucson, Tucson Ward 3 Council Member Kevin Dahl, AARP Tucson, Pima County’s Clean Air Program, Arizona Commission on the Arts, Cigna, TMC Health and dozens of other partners and sponsors. The key to making this 50,000-person event successful is the many partners who lend their creativity and energy. Behind every giveaway and activity is a community organizer, leader, or member with a heart to see other Tucsonans thrive. Learn more at www.cycloviatucson.org.
