Spend more AZ winter days outside with Cyclovia Remix

Tucson, AZ (January 24, 2022) — All it takes is a quick glance at another city’s temperatures to remember that Tucson is the best place you could be right now. Living Streets Alliance is making the most of the good weather with Cyclovia Remix, a virtual/in-person hybrid event celebrating different neighborhoods across Tucson.

On each past route, Cyclovia Remix participants connect with neighbors, community organizations, activities, and local businesses. "Running a small business during a pandemic sure has been challenging. One thing that encourages us is connecting in new ways with Tucsonans at our nursery. It’s been great to partner with Cyclovia Remix to try something different and continue to be involved in the community" shares Jane Evans, co-owner of Plants for the Southwest.

In the last three months of Cyclovia Remix, Living Streets Alliance has hosted 800+ people at pop-up events in parks, distributed over 100 bike light sets with Pima County Department of Environmental Quality, led bike group rides with 117 Tucsonans, serviced 80 bikes in need of repair, and fitted children with 85+ free helmets with the Tucson Department of Transportation and Mobility. In partnership with the Pima County Health Department, almost 300 vaccines have been administered at Cyclovia Remix events.

Living Streets Alliance partners with several community organizations, promoting almost a hundred community events online. Collaborations have looked like artist-in-residence Alex! Jimenez facilitating a public chalk mural at October’s Mission Manor Park Party and local DJs curating playlists for each route highlighting the unique people and places throughout the city.

In partnership with sponsors Cigna, AARP, Trek, TMC HealthCare, Arizona Complete Health, and Tucson Water, Cyclovia Remix provides fun and safe group rides as well as family-friendly activities and community resources at pop-up events.

At the end of January, roll down the Green at the Core Cyclovia Remix route, wrapping up a month filled with events, stories, and celebration from the popular Cyclovia Tucson 2016 event route. Cyclovia Remix has 2 more months of events before coming together for the one-day only Classic Cyclovia on March 27, 2022 from 9 am-3 pm.
