LSA is seeking an energetic, creative, outgoing, and resourceful team member to coordinate and grow our many activities and initiatives that support and encourage biking, walking, scooting, rolling, and using public transit. As part of the LSA team, they will enjoy and value collaboration and co-creation, be curious and appreciate learning, have an interest in shared leadership, and take initiative.

The Bike Initiatives Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating walking-/biking-/transit-related events and activities throughout the year. He/She/They will be energized by being around and working with people of all ages, collaborating with businesses and partners, and leading fun and inclusive events and activities.

The successful candidate will be passionate about enhancing multi-modal mobility and growing the movement for Complete Streets in Tucson. To that end, they will bring an enthusiasm to support LSA’s advocacy efforts in addition to performing the basic duties of this position. 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Regularly schedule, coordinate, and lead bicycle/walking/transit encouragement events and activities on behalf of the organization 

  • Consult with businesses and business districts to increase bike/walk/transit friendliness by integrating into special events, activities, games

  • Conduct interviews and provide editing support for Pedaling the Pueblo (a biweekly radio feature) and other podcasts

  • Promote, coordinate, and staff bike valet service and bike rack rentals 

  • Work with businesses and community partners to develop and lead group rides, tours, and activities as needed 

  • Scheduling, leading, and staffing MBRs (bike repair clinic-style MBRs, some at schools, some in community locations) 

  • Monitoring supply levels for MBRs and bike clubs 

  • Providing Open Streets (Cyclovia Tucson) program support 

  • Leading after school bike clubs 

  • Assisting with other SRTS events as needed  

Details of the position

  • Full-time, exempt, $43,000-$53,000 salaried position

  • Located in Tucson, AZ

  • Ongoing application deadline; position will remain open until filled although applications received by March 15, 2023 will receive first consideration
