Reflecting on “streets as public spaces” one year after COVID-19 kicked in

As human beings, our relationship to streets and public spaces has shifted during the pandemic. Repurposing asphalt has become a strategy for supporting local businesses and meeting the shifting needs of people and families as they get around their city. Over the past month, our Executive Director got to explore this topic with leaders across Tucson and throughout the state, thanks to the efforts of Vitalyst Health Foundation.

The first conversation was a panel reflection on ways of Creating Vibrant Cities, highlighting the Arizona Town Hall report released at the beginning of 2020. Click on the video below to watch it:

Th second conversation grew out of the Creating Vibrant Cities panel’s conversation, and dives into what lessons Tucson has learned over the past year, and what might come next. LSA was joined by partners at Downtown Tucson Partnership and Tucson Department of Transportation & Mobility.
