Stop i-11 from cutting through Tohono O'odham lands

It's time to get serious about I-11. This proposed interstate, running from the the U.S/Mexico border to Wickenberg, is being pushed full speed ahead despite considerable, unified, and consistent opposition from communities all over southern Arizona. Current recommended alignments run either through Tohono O'odham lands or City of Tucson. Both are terrible.

Recently a Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) was released with just 30 days for public comment, which is unacceptable. Join us in telling Arizona Dept. of Transportation (ADOT) and FHWA (Federal Highway Administration) that the community deserves more time to sift through the nearly 5,000 (FIVE THOUSAND!!!) page EIS. Request an extension of the public comment deadline from 30 days to 120 days.

There's plenty more action to take, but let's start with securing more time. Our allies over at the Coalition for Sonoran Desert Protection have put together some helpful talking points, a slew of background materials on i-11, and multiple ways to contact ADOT/FHWA and comment on the project. Take action and don't wait—there's only two weeks left!
