Preview the 6th Avenue Asphalt Art mural + get ready for next month!
The votes are in and Concept #1 was the clear winner for the 6th Ave Asphalt Art project. The design, created by Tucson artist Yu Yu Shiratori, will get implemented during an all-day block-painting party this October as part of a project to calm traffic, improve connectivity, and enhance safety and comfort for people in the block between Children's Museum Tucson and Armory Park.
The "quick build" project was made possible through a Bloomberg Philanthropies Asphalt Art Initiative grant award in partnership with Tucson Department of Transportation & Mobility. Click below to learn more about the project, and make sure to sign up to help paint the street on October 22nd as part of United Way Days of Caring (scroll down for details).
