Welcome to nine incoming board members and huge thanks to two moving on
2022 is starting out with some really exciting additions to the Living Streets Alliance Board of Directors. We’d like to welcome nine new members to the Board. Scroll down to learn a about each of them and their reasons for joining the LSA Board. But first…
Thank you to Seth Smith and Jose Jimenez for your service!
We’d like to thank board members Seth Smith and Jose Jimenez for their time, energy, and dedication during their board service.
Jose Jimenez joined the board in 2016 after connecting with us via the Cyclovia Tucson Lost Barrio—Himmel Park route. At the time, Jose’s shop—Petroglyphs—was located in the area and he helped make connections not only at this event, but at future Cyclovia event on La Doce and in South Tucson. Since that time Jose’s shop has moved to the MSA Annex where it is quickly outgrowing it’s shipping container walls and will soon move into a larger and brand new space in The Monier. Jose continues to be involved in making the Youth Mariachi conference happen here in Tucson and is constantly weaving his relationships together to bring so many good things to Tucsonans. Jose doesn’t sit still. He shows up again and again, completely committed to this community. We’re grateful for all of the years he shared his time and talents with LSA and can’t wait to see what he does next!
Seth Smith began working with LSA as a member of the board in 2019. Being an educator, he shared many of the skills and tools utilized at his day job as faculty at Palo Friere and then City Center For Collaborative Learning / City High to build a practice of introspection and purposeful disruption within the culture of the board. During his tenure he also welcomed a new member into his family. Seth and family are now poised to make a big jump across the lake to Germany and have many preparations to make. We will miss his energy and enthusiasm and wish him and his family well!
