Cyclovia Remix hosts University of Arizona arts oasis pop-up party

Tucson, AZ (March 1, 2022) — On Saturday, March 19th, food, art, plants, and science collide for the public to enjoy on the UArizona campus. Cyclovia Remix hosts the final group bike ride and pop-up event with co-hosts from UArizona Center for Creative Photography, University of Arizona Museum of Art, Catalyst Studios, and Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research. Meet at 6th Ave and 7th street for the group bike ride, or join later at the pop-up event on Olive Rd north of 2nd St.

With the Center for Creative Photography, community members, families, and students can make shadow art sunprints on the front patio, visit the latest multimedia installation, trees stir in their leaves (free and open to the public), and chat with Laboratory of Tree-Ring Research conservators demonstrating how forensics techniques are used to investigate art and natural history collections.

Visitors of all ages can participate in family gallery guides and activities at the University of Arizona Museum of Art. Any visitor who shows their bike helmet at the UAMA admissions desk will receive a special discount. As always, the UAMA is free for youth under 18, and UArizona students, staff, and faculty with a Cat Card. This is the last weekend to see the exhibition “The Art of Food” before it closes.

Students from the Catalyst Studios at the University of Arizona Libraries will teach the public about seeds and plants, and attendees can walk away with hand-held planter terrariums made using recycled materials.

In partnership with sponsors Cigna, AARP, Trek, TMC HealthCare, Arizona Complete Health, Cycling Advocates of Southern Arizona, City of Tucson, and Tucson Water, Cyclovia Remix has provided fun and safe group rides as well as family-friendly activities and community resources at pop-up events for the last six months. Visit their website https://www.cycloviatucson.org/cyclovia-remix-march for more information on rides and events in March.

This is the last Cyclovia Remix event before coming together for the one-day only Classic Cyclovia on March 27, 2022 from 9 am-3 pm. For more information about the one-day Cyclovia route and activities, visit https://www.cycloviatucson.org.
