LSA welcomes two new members to the team

This fall, we’re delighted to welcome two delightful human beings to the LSA team.

Meet Prab

Prabjit (Prab) Virdee, Open Streets Manager

Prabjit (he/him) has called Tucson home for over 20 years. Better known as Prab, he first began organizing at University of Arizona while completing his Bachelor of Science in Psychology, during which he brought sustainable practices to campus through coalition work of environmental student groups. In 2020, Prab led a team in the fabrication and distribution of over 10,000 face shields and continued his community-focused work as one of the founders of local Subspace Art Collective, which provided underrepresented artists with funding and studio space to complete their artworks for display at gallery showings. A longtime cyclist around town, Prab is passionate about building safe and inspired transportation systems in Tucson through his role as Open Streets Manager. He enjoys gathering people into engaging spaces as a way to amplify community voices through creative expression.

Meet Ginette

Ginette Gonzalez, Development & Communications Coordinator

As a native Tucsonan, Ginette is passionate about making sure Tucson takes care of its people, and its people take care of Tucson.

Through her work, she champions equity and access to communities that have been historically harmed, excluded, denied, and disenfranchised. Ginette has a history of communication and fundraising with Community Investment Corporation (CIC), a Tucson nonprofit that champions equitable access to the economy, and the University of Arizona School of Art.

Through their work at LSA, Ginette hopes to showcase the possibilities of people-centered streets far and wide, and to create an irresistible enthusiasm for Open Streets in Tucson.
