And that's a wrap: Highlights from our 8th year of Safe Routes to School


The end of the spring 2022 semester marked eight years of Safe Routes to School programming here at Living Streets Alliance. After so much uncertainty with the pandemic, we felt especially grateful for this past year, to be back in school and reconnecting with kids, families, and program partners.

Infographic hot off the press: Results of our spring Cyclovia Census


We’re always delighted by the results gathered through our Cyclovia Census participant survey. The data collected through the Census—which is administered in partnership with the UA’s Peace Corps Coverdell Fellows program—helps reinforce Open Streets as something that’s good for people’s health and well-being as well as for the local economy.

Let's talk EVs: The electric vehicle "revolution" is status quo for cities


From Super Bowl commercials to conversations in the White House, EVs seem to have many Americans charged up. The mass adoption of EVs has been called a "revolution," but can a solution that maintains the status quo of car culture and infrastructure really be thought of as revolutionary?

Over two months, we'll examine EVs potential impact on our cities and on broader climate change goals.

If you live in or around Sunnyside, Fairgrounds, Cherry Avenue, Rose, Barrio Nopal, Bravo Park Lane or Copper Vista neighborhoods, please join us!

This is an opportunity to learn more about the Tucson Norte-Sur project and share your thoughts and feedback in a small group setting. Meal included. Children and families welcome.

Ready for reduced parking requirements?
Weigh in on the City's Individual Parking Plan

The Mayor & Council want to hear from you about a proposed amendment to Tucson's development code related to parking minimums. 

LSA supports reduced parking requirements to support the expansion of affordable housing and outdoor restaurant seating. This amendment can help address our housing crisis and preserve urban greenspace and people-friendly gathering areas, aligned with Complete Streets principles.

Neighborhood grants available from League of American Bicyclists

Community Spark Grants of up to $1,500 are available for small-scale biking projects in your neighborhood. The deadline to apply for the a grant is July 15, 2022 at 11:59 pm PT.
